EnoughRecords is a Portuguese netlabel. We promote and distribute music we enjoy listening to - from friendly artists who want to release through us - for free.

We have a strong demoscene background. We feel the world has been littered and missguided with ergonomic pop formulas for too long. We can't really guerrilla market ourselfs past the music industry marketing but we still strive to provide alternatives for artists and listeners who might share our taste in music. We believe music should be free, so if you enjoyed listening to one of our releases, share it with your friends and the world. Don't collect money on the work of others. Try to mention it was released at enoughrecords. Above all, let the artists know their music is beeing played, heard, understood and enjoyed by other people across the globe.

We slowly came to realize we pursue a focus on electronica, IDM, postrock, industrial, noise, glitch, drone and dark ambient. Howhever, we are open to other genres as long as it sounds good and clicks something inside of us. We are not an experimental music only label. We are not a genre specific label. Our plan for world domination is to release soothing sounds, emerging landscapes, from Portugal, Europe, World, into the cyberspace for whomever will listen. We do this for free, because we can. We believe the listener will find another way to support the artist.

Plenty of news for everyone this time:

First and foremost, new release by CAD. Their Made of Fire EP which was originally distributed at Lock The Target festival is now freely available for download.

Secondly, we're proud to announce three new upcoming dates for Beats Play Free, some of which are still with open lineups, so you netaudio artists out-there who always whine no one gives them a chance to show their stuff: move ass and grab the oportunities for a change. You can find more info on the BPF forums.

Last but not least, we're still looking for more graphic designers to help finish artwork to our backcatalogue in time for our website revamp, so if you're into that, pick a random coverless release (they are easy to spot, they're all the early catalogue ones we didnt do .zips from yet) and send us an email about it. If you do well we'll send you some promo goodies along with proper credit and url linkage next to the release. :) Enough is a good oportunity to fill up your designer portfolio according to some of our colaborator friends Hélder Costa, André Coelho, Joana Queiroz and Timo Harju, among others.

Cobra is a one man project made in lisbon, that was born out of the need to create audio support to visual work. It is made of sounds that crawl under, slowly rise and break the skin, it is more a listening experience than music per se.

Though Kevin Krebs often describes himself proverbially, he is a seminal influence in the Netlabel scene and has created many important works using original source material of the eclectic and electroacoustic variety. Mystified, aka Thomas Park, remains a prolific artist who specializes in creating songs and audio collages from sounds he finds at his Saint Louis apartment or from surrounding neighborhoods. "Reclaiming The Darkness" involved a sample exchange-- across the Pacific Ocean, unique and home-crafted sounds travelled as tiny bits, to be retrieved at other shores. Several pieces were written by each artist as "solo" pieces, and one piece, "Blinded", was written by simply agreeing on a track length, and mixing two signals, one from each artist, without preview. The result is a strange and enjoyable journey that emphasizes the strengths of both artists! Kevin Krebs and mystified would like to thank Sandy Spreitz for the fine cover art!

this release is the first release under extrapool but phillip spradley has done other releases as "human" on ivdt years back. all his other releases thus far were handmade, extremely limited ones. the name extrapool, and the music made is sort of a reflection on everything that clogs human existance. things commonly associated to "living" that have nothing to do with "surviving". in one sense the work is completely conceptual and another it's satirical. the sound itself is not fixed and ranges from noise and found samples to glitch and breakcore (sort of). influences are mainly first wave industrial, back when the sound was raw and non-conforming (throbbing gristle, whitehouse, einsturzende neubatan, laibach), as well as current more rhythmatic idm artists (richard devine, xanopticon).

How can i send you my mp3s for a release?
You should email filipe links to your tracks. Please don't send binaries attached. Also please don't add the address to any sort of mailing lists, we already keep track of things, don't want duplicates of information cluttering the mailbox.

Is this music really free? Just download?.. Do i need to pay to play it in clubs?
Yes it's free. All tracks are released under a by-nc-nd creative commons license (unless otherwise specified), and are also all unsigned from any of those artist royalties ripoff associations. That means that it's free to download, distribute and broadcast without needing to pay anything to anyone, not even to the GEMA / RIAA / SPA / SGAE / TEOSTO / whatever. The only thing you can't do with it is claim ownership or release any derivatives commercially without the artists permission. All broadcasting and non profit distribution activity is perfectly legal and free of charge.

Where can i get this ENO 001 that i been hearing about?
There was a planed "physical" release of an xhale vs sense split 12" which never saw the light of day, we don't know how certain people claim having it on discogs.com since we never actually published it.. we reckon they developed some sort of secret master deadly ninja shadow technic, the kind that only gets passed within close master-student relationships due to it's overwhelming destructive power, a master of such technic manages to acquire 0-day mp3 releases of never released releases. we don't know how they do it but big respect to them.

What happened to enoughradio?
It's dead.
For those who don't know we had a pirate netradio running during our first year or so. Actually our first compilation enrcmp01 - Dreamers of Dreams was composed entirely from artists who broadcasted and listened to the radio on a regular basis.

What's a netlabel?

Can i share these releases using bittorrent or other p2p applications?
Yes. We want our releases and artists to be known across the whole multiverse and beyond. So please _do_ abuse whatever independent distributing technology you see fit, including http, ftp, dcc, fserver, cdr, radiocast, webcast, bittorrent and whatever other p2p solution you can imagine. Just as long as you are not collecting money from our artists work, you're free to re-distribute it in any way you see fit.

If you like a specific artist we encourage you to support them directly, check their myspace pages for special contributions and upcoming events. If you're interested in supporting the netlabel itself, you can donate through paypal, we are non profit - all donations will be used to cut costs on printing physical promo material to give away at future events. For each donation over 5 euros you should get in touch by email and provide a shipping address to get back either an audio cdr copy of one of our releases, or a data dvd with all the latest releases, both options are shipped with proper plastic casings and quality printed covers.
